The Pearsons Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection is based on the relevant SIA ‘Specifications for Learning and Qualifications for Close Protection Operatives’ and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Close Protection Operative.
Our training staff are fully qualified training instructors and CPOs. They have a vast amount of working experience as TLs/CPOs in a wide range of Close Protection duties operating in the UK and overseas. In addition to this they have a wider experience of working within the security sector, therefore, they provide a wealth of extra knowledge and experience during the course. Training staff will deliver their instruction in a relaxed, friendly and professional manner.
Assessment
This will all be sent out to you once you have booked on the course, and please note that the course is designed for anyone to attend, you do not have to have served in the Armed Forces.

This 4 day Pearsons Level 2 Award in Door Supervision has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for learners who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Door Supervisor within the private security industry. The course is delivered by a fully qualified training instructor who is still active 'working the doors' with over 22 years' experience within the industry. The course also qualifies you to work as a Security Guard.
Assessment
Unit 1 - Working in the Private Security Industry
This is completed from home as part of the prior learning element and all paperwork is sent to you prior to the course starting.
Unit 2 – Day One, Working as a Door Supervisor
Starts with a 25-question multiple-choice examination paper, based on the prior learning, which you have done at home. Then the next day and half is learning all about how to be a Door Supervisor.
Day Two, AM as above and PM Starts the Unit-3 Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
Learning all about how to manage conflict including what to say and what not! And continues into day three all morning.
Day Three AM as above and PM starts the Unit 4 - Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry.
This is learning about Physical Intervention and Disengagement skills.
Day Four- As above, finishing around 1600 hours.

This Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA ‘Specifications for Learning and Qualifications for CCTV Control Room Operators (PSS)’ and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for those who wish to apply for an SIA licence and work as a CCTV Operative.
This qualification can enable the learner to progress onto the NVQ in Providing Security Services or undertake further learning in other areas of the private security industry such as Security Guarding or Door Supervision.
Assessment
Our 3 Day Fast track course contains the same learning as the 4 day course, but with the option for candidates to learn Unit 1 in the comfort of their own home and in their own time. Unit 1 is tested on the first morning of the course.
Our SIA training courses prepare individuals for working in the security industry as private door supervisors and security guards. As the industry grows, the demand for these kind of roles has increased dramatically, with the security industry becoming a major skilled profession.
This course is delivered at our training centers in Colchester but can also be run at your premises or a location of your choice in the United Kingdom for Group Bookings.
In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This applies to front line staff only.
To get one of the qualifications linked to Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licensing you will need to attend and take two training modules and take and pass two exams. The duration of the training should be 32 hours. The course may be delivered over four days or during weekends and/or evening sessions.

Assessment
The course focuses mainly on the roles and responsibilities of a security guard or officer working in offices, shopping malls, stores, factories, building sites, hospitals etc. etc. It is an accredited qualification developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is structured on the relevant SIA specifications for learning and qualifications and will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to apply for an SIA licence and work as a security officer or guard.
Successful candidates will be presented with a level 2 award in security guarding certificate.
In order to obtain an SIA licence you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This applies to front line staff only.
